Chris Voelz, Executive Director of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda, announced today the appointment of Bob Vecchione to the CWSA Board of Directors. Vecchione, the Executive Director of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) will replace Joan Cronan as the CWSA Board of Directors NACDA representative.

The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) program recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding female student-athletes in NCAA-member institutions throughout the United States. The CWSA has honored the nation’s top NCAA women athletes for 38 years, recognizing superior athletic skills, leadership, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service.

"We are thrilled that Bob is joining the CWSA Board of Directors,” stated Voelz. “He consistently brings fresh ideas and a team approach to getting things done and has long embraced our mission".

Vecchione took over as Executive Director of NACDA in 2011, after serving most recently as the Association’s deputy executive director. He joined NACDA in 1992.

Vecchione is also a member of the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame National Board of Directors, the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission Board and is on the advisory Board of the College Sports Video Summit. He previously chaired the NCAA Football Youth Initiatives Committee.

“I’m honored to be selected as the NACDA representative to the CWSA Board of Directors,” said Bob Vecchione, NACDA Executive Director. “I look forward to supporting their mission, working with their current Board and officers and reuniting with Chris after our time together at Minnesota".
