Bio

In 1993, UCLA's Lisa Fernandez became the first-ever softball player to win what was then known as the Honda-Broderick Cup after a stellar career which included two national titles and four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Women’s College World Series.  Lisa’s dominant career at UCLA included a 93-7 overall record on the mound and, as a senior, she hit an NCAA-leading .510 batting average.  Lisa went on to win three Olympic gold medals with Team USA in 1996, 2000, and 2004. She is a member of both the ASA Hall of Fame and the USOPC Hall of Fame. Now entering her 29th year as UCLA’s associate head coach, she also helped develop another Honda Cup great, pitcher Rachel Garcia, the 2019 and 2021 Honda Cup winner.
