Bio
The 1998 winner of what was then known as the Honda-Broderick Cup is Tennessee basketball legend Chamique Holdsclaw. Chamique led the Lady Volunteers to three consecutive NCAA titles in 1996, 1997 and 1998, including a perfect 39-0 season her junior year in 1998. After her stellar college career, Chamique went on to be the #1 pick in the 1999 WNBA Draft, win Olympic Gold with Team USA in 2000, lead the WNBA in scoring in 2002 while playing for the Washington Mystics, and ultimately be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. Today Chamique is a prominent mental health advocate and author.
