Bio
The 1987 winner of what was then the Honda-Broderick Cup is Mary T. Meagher from the University of California. During her illustrious career in Berkeley, Mary captured six NCAA individual titles winning the 200m butterfly all four years and the 100m butterfly her sophomore and senior seasons. Mary is also a five-time Olympic Medalist earning three Golds in 1984, plus a Silver and Bronze in 1988. One of those golds, in the 4x100 medley relay, came alongside fellow Honda Cup winner Tracy Caulkins from the University of Florida. Mary was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1993 and has a street named after her in her hometown of Elizabeth, Kentucky.
