The prestigious Honda Cup will be announced live during the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Show presented by Honda on CBS Sports Network on Monday, June 24, at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET, from the USC Galen Center Founders Room in Los Angeles, Calif.
The CWSA is celebrating its 43rd year of honoring “the best of the best” and will see four past Honda Cup winners in attendance.
"It is always great when family returns and we are fortunate to have four members of our CWSA family returning to celebrate the 43rd annual awards event, “ said CWSA Executive Director Chris Voelz. “Their rich experiences, great sport stories and fondness for the elite CWSA sisterhood inspires the next generations and especially the Class of 2019 .”

Courtney Kupets, Georgia, Gymnastics, Class of 2009
Returns for her 10th anniversary of winning the Honda Cup…two-time Honda Sport Award winner for gymnastics…led Georgia to four NCAA team titles during her career and earned nine individual NCAA titles, including three All-Around crowns…2004 Olympian- team silver medal, bronze medalist on uneven bars…she is now the head coach at the University of Georgia…emcee of the 2019 Huddle at Pan Pacific Park during the Honda Cup weekend.
Lisa Fernandez, UCLA, Softball, Class of 1993
Four-time Honda Sport Award winner for softball…four-time First-Team All-American…three-time medal winning Olympian…pitcher and third baseman…led team to two national championships as a player… continues to hold the UCLA records for career shutouts… established Olympic records with 25 strikeouts in a game…noted for having pitched in three consecutive gold medal …USA Softball Hall of Fame honoree…currently assistant softball coach at UCLA and captured the 2019 NCAA Championship.
Mary T Meagher, California, Swimming, Class of 1987
Two-time Honda Sport Award winner for swimming…forever known as Madame Butterfly after winning three gold medals in the 1984 Olympics…held the world records in the 100 and 200 meter butterfly for almost two decades…three Olympic teams…won 24 U.S. national swimming titles...three-time Swimming World American Swimmer of the Year…emcee of the 2019 Celebration Luncheon presented by Honda during the Honda Cup weekend.
Jill Sterkel, Texas, Swimming, Class of 1981
Two-time Honda Sports Award winner for swimming…captured 16 national championships while at Texas…19-time All American…first woman ever to make four Olympic teams and was elected captain of three of them…won four medals in three Olympic Games…three-time Pan American Champion…currently the Co-Director of the University of Texas T Association Letterwinners Club…serves on the CWSA Board of Directors as a past Honda Cup winner representative.
