Stanford University teammates Megha Ganne and Paula Martín Sampredo, Maria José Marin from the University of Arkansas, and Farah O’Keefe of the University of Texas have been announced as the four finalists for the Class of 2026 Honda Sport Award for golf, as revealed today by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA).
The announcement comes during a landmark moment for the organization, as the CWSA celebrates its 50th anniversary during the 2025-26 collegiate athletics season. For five decades, the Honda Sport Award has honored the nation’s top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports, symbolizing “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.” The recipient will become a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the Class of 2026 Honda Cup, to be presented live on Monday, July 27, at 7 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
The golf finalists were selected by a panel of experts and coaches from the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCS). The Honda Sport award winner for golf will be announced later this week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools.
Ganne, a senior from Holmdel, N.J., played a pivotal role in leading Stanford to the 2026 NCAA team championship, securing the clinching victory in the final round as the Cardinal captured their third national title in five years. The NCAA individual runner-up and 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur champion was a three-time WGCA First Team All-American, a four-time all-conference selection, and finished her collegiate career with three individual titles, 22 top-10 finishes, and a 71.01 scoring average.
Martín Sampedro, a junior from Madrid, Spain, was a finalist for the 2026 ANNIKA Award and earned ACC Golfer of the Year honors after winning the ACC individual title and helping Stanford claim both the ACC and NCAA team championships. A three-time WGCA First Team All-American, Martin Sampedro owns the Stanford program record for career scoring average (70.19) and has compiled four career victories, 22 top-10 finishes, and multiple international titles, including the 2025 Women’s Amateur Championship and 2025 European Ladies’ Amateur Championship.
José Marin, a junior from Cali, Colombia, continued her standout career by winning the 2026 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, becoming the first player in Arkansas and SEC history to claim the prestigious title while setting a tournament-record 14-under-par score. The reigning Honda Award winner and three-time WGCA First Team All-American also tied for fifth at the NCAA Championship, led the Razorbacks to their first NCAA Championship semifinal appearance, and posted a team-best 70.0 scoring average.
O’Keefe, a junior from Austin, Texas, captured the 2026 ANNIKA Award, WGCA Division I Player of the Year honors, and the NCAA individual championship after a dominant season in which she recorded four victories and finished in the top 10 in all 12 collegiate events. Ranked No. 1 in the collegiate standings entering the NCAA Championship, O’Keefe was also named SEC Player of the Year and helped Team USA win the World Amateur Team Championship.
As the CWSA marks its 50th anniversary, the organization continues its longstanding mission to honor excellence in athletics, leadership, academics, and community service. Since 1986, Honda has contributed more than $3.4 million in institutional grants to support women’s athletics programs nationwide.
