Olivia Clemons, a sophomore from Washington University in St. Louis, has been named a finalist in soccer for the DIII Honda Athlete of the Year, as announced today by Chris Voelz, Executive Director of The Collegiate Women Sports Awards (CWSA) presented by Honda.
The announcement comes during a landmark moment for the organization, as the CWSA celebrates its 50th anniversary during the 2025–26 collegiate athletics season. Clemons is now among 11 elite finalists for this prestigious award, which recognizes the top NCAA Division III athletes across various sports. The DIII Honda Athlete of the Year will be selected by senior women administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools and will be honored during a live broadcast on CBS Sports Network on Monday, July 27th, at 7:00 pm ET, in New York City.
Clemons, the 2025 DIII United Soccer Coaches Player of the Year, capped a remarkable season as a key contributor to back-to-back national championship teams in 2024 and 2025. A United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American and repeat UAA Offensive Player of the Year, she led her team with 17 goals, 40 points, and six assists while appearing in all 24 matches.
The forward hailing from Kansas City, Mo., earned NCAA All-Tournament Offensive Player honors for the second consecutive year and delivered in the biggest moments, including a successful penalty kick in a 14-round shootout during the NCAA Championship semifinal.
Excelling both on and off the field, she is also a CSC Academic All-American and Academic All-UAA selection.
“Olivia is a player with special gifts but her greatest gift is selflessness,” stated head coach Jim Conlon. “She is an unbelievable teammate as well as soccer player that can score goals and create chances for her teammates.”
Now in its 50th year, the CWSA continues to honor the nation’s top female collegiate athletes for excellence in athletics, leadership, academics, and community service. Since partnering with Honda in 1986, the program has provided more than $3.4 million in institutional grants, strengthening and advancing women’s athletics programs nationwide.
